seven years later

This doesn't happen every day
Please don't leave me hear this way
I can't deny this feeling's true
I fell in love with you

You want it all - and I want you everyday
You want it all - but I don't know what to say
You want it all - my heart is black and blue
You want it all - but I'll give it all to you

catching up on what's important and right

I get butterflies in my stomach each time Fashion Week comes around because my favorite designers (and some new and unexpected ones as well) seem to reach into my head and pull out collections that represent everything I have been musing at the moment. I don't know how they do it and I don't question it. There is definitely a new school of thought brewing in the fashion world that has been growing with each new year of the 2000's. Maybe it's just my mind maturing and beginning to understand a true creative process...

I'll start with the obvious:

Form-fitting black attire. I've grown to love this look and I constantly try to keep this silhouette in my head every time I dress myself. However, being a full-time student, part-time waitress and nonstop artist, I can't conform to such intense beauty each day. I keep telling myself this will change once I graduate and get paid larger sums of money for my work (such a dreamy thought).

And on that note:

These next looks are what I want to start evolving my wardrobe into. I've been digging the bookish look lately; I think it's mainly due to my new pair of glasses. I really like how blazers always make it into my top picks:

These next two looks are really sweet. They're my inspiration for my transition to spring attire (even though it's for Fall 09):

And some fantastic and whimsical creations that I would wear around my home if permitted (because I don't think anyone else would appreciate these creations as much as my F R I E N D S and me).

This post has gone back to the purpose I created this blog. Aesthetic inspiration. Enjoy.

Cementaries in the Snow

I tried to make my ripped to the bone white jeans last night.
Failed.
Cut them into shorts and dropped black india ink all over em.
Like them better this way...

People Who Smoke...

Life as of late has been brimming with boys. It's strange because I want nothing to do with a relationship in any way, but I end up getting caught up in the idea of coming across the "perfect boy." I watch too much television, read too many books, watch too many cartoons where these types of situations occur. These mediums have polluted my mind and have made me naive and blind to what relationships truly are. I can't see myself being able to trust anyone as much as I used to. I also can't see myself staying in one place and settling any time soon.

Time is fucking ridiculous. Why aren't the days longer? Why do I want to sleep so often?

And on the topic of relationships, my love affair with Winter is coming to a close. I have been sporting my super beat-up Levi's cut-offs this past week.

My hair is also growing. It's getting pretty big and poofy. I tried using mousse to add some waves, but my hair is so thick and straight that it just falls flat :[

I need more shorts, preferably ones that do not sag in the back. I will buy/make new ones as SXSW approaches.

I'm obsessive. I draw with thin lines and in small spaces. Un-noticed places. Hidden places.

FRAMED

So, turns out my lovely Prague frames were too old to be replaced :[ the frame would have cracked/broke when the lenses got punched out. I turned to my trusty companion, Jordyne, and asked her to help me pick out a suitable frame. I finally settled on these:

I'm excited! They come in at the end of the week. It's going to be great wearing glasses again!

Reality Bites

I really need a new pair of glasses. I have these frames that I got at the flea market in Prague over the summer.
I want to switch out the lenses for my prescription soon. I think they are a good fit for my face...

My wet hair, no make up and sleeveless shirt is totally '90s, but I can't help but listen to this:

I love that song way tooo much. Too bad I cannot find a music video for it so we have to settle for these awesome aerobics inspired choreographed moves. I personally love the the squeezing motions in the beginning...
